_Performance Conditioning & Physical Rehabilitation
the golden 8
_This routine has been demonstrated in both healing and the maintenance of one's health and vitality.
There are eight exercises, hence the name Golden Eight, and will reflect a change in energy in both the meridians and corresponding organs. Meridians are the pathways that we can use to locate the flow of qi. These meridian pathways run vertically in the anterior, lateral, and posterior aspects of our bodies, and they are also bilateral from limb to limb. Each movement is done with appropriate breathing patterns, proper musculo-skeletal alignment, along with specific intention distributing optimal forces through the various joints involved. There is sufficient documentation to substantiate the benefits of Qi Gong. For example, Qi Gong can augment both the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, muscular skeletal system, and the neurological system as well. One does not have to be ill to receive the many benefits from participating in Qi Gong. Remember, Qi Gong can help maintain and improve already good health habits. Qi Gong can be meditative, such as sitting still or lying supine, being with your breath, creating a microcosmic orbit. This microcosmic orbit will virtually represent qi ascending the entire spine, over the head, down the mid-line of the face, and then proceeding down the anterior mid-line section of the torso; ready to repeat this journey. stretching
